About the Event
We are delighted to have Trausti Þór Guðmundsson back this year for a Figures Tests clinic and competition. The Figures Tests aims to promote a harmonious way of riding Icelandic Horses.
The Clinic
The clinic will take place Friday, May 17 to the morning of Sunday, May 19. There are two lessons per day, with some theory as well, and one lesson on the last day. Lunch is included.
Trausti, an FT trainer with vast experience with the Icelandic Horse, will help horse and rider in all aspects of the Figures Tests training scale:
- Rhythm and beat (regularity and tempo)
- Suppleness (elasticity/lack of tension)
- Contact (acceptance of the bit and aids)
- Impulsion (increased energy from hindquarters)
- Straightness (equal bend on both reins)
- Collection (engagement and balance)

The Competition
The competition will take place in the afternoon of Sunday, May 19, and be somewhere between 1:00 - 6:00 pm. The competition, a comprehensive riding test, is $75 per horse & rider and free for clinic participants. Spectators are of course very welcome!
